Carole Ann Laramore

Obituary

Carole Ann Laramore was born May 12, 1937, to Warren and Moselle Winbaugh of Fort Wayne, IN. She passed away on May 7, 2022, at Parkview Randallia Hospice Center after a long battle with dementia. We thank the countless friends and family members who joined us in prayer during her illness.

Carole was a student at Central High School. She spent her senior year and graduated from Saint Joseph’s Academy in Tipton, IN. During her freshman year of high school, she would meet the love of her life, Earl. They went on to marry in 1963.
Carole completed a certification program for Nursing in her early 20s, then went to work at a hospital caring for babies. This would become her life’s passion. For most of her adult life, Carole worked at Lutheran Hospital. There she cared for infants in the NICU for many years. Later, she transitioned to a role of teacher in the Lutheran’s Child Care Center. She continued her advocacy for infant and child development. Carole retired in 2009.

She was a daughter, wife, mother, aunt, and sister. Most who knew her called her Grammie. She was loved by so many parents of the children she cared for throughout her career. She received Christmas cards and greetings from all over the country updating her of progress on the children she loved. Carole was well-known for her kind spirit and loving soul. Carole had a spirited sense of humor, and a laugh that filled up a room. In her free time, Carole was a voracious reader. She was very fond of historical topics, including presidential-, royal family-, and American-history. She was a jazz music enthusiast, dating back to her teenage years. Throughout her lifetime, she loved going to local concerts. Carole also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for the holidays. She loved sweets, and her family loved to tease her about her sweet tooth. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, caring and providing support for them, and ensuring they were loved.

Carole was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Robert “Bobby” Winbaugh; her husband of thirty-seven loving years, Earl E. Laramore; and granddaughter Kennedy J. Laramore. Surviving is her daughter, Allie (Don) Laramore-Williams, of Noblesville, IN; son, Lance (Charmaine) Laramore, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Carole cherished her nearly 50 years of friendship with Beth (Tom) Gardner and Nancy (Art) Kuehnert. Both friends were instrumental in the last year of her care and truly cherished by her family for their love and support during her illness.
