Checklists: Pre-planning A Funeral

No one likes to think about death – whether it be to talk about it or to takes steps in planning for it. We shy away from drawing up wills, purchasing cemetery plots, or conveying our wishes for the final days. It is an uncomfortable topic that no one wants to dwell on. Yet, studies have shown that handling the details of the funeral and burial of a loved one is one of the most stressful things that a family ever has to handle – all at time they are grieving the loss of an important member of the family.

By pre-planning your funeral, you take some of the burden of important final decisions off your family. You can make those decisions ahead of time, without the pressure of time and grief.

This Checklist on “Pre-planning a Funeral” has a corresponding Essential under the same title. The Essential will give you assistance on how to fill out the Checklist. Together, they will guide you through situations that often occur during a time of loss.
