Bereaved Parents of the USA

The Bereaved Parents of the USA — Baltimore Metropolitan Area Chapter has been meeting every month, and publishing a monthly newsletter, since 1978. They seek to help bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings survive the severe crisis they face in the first days, weeks, months or years following the death of a dearly loved child.

Camp Caring

Camp Caring is an annual weekend bereavement camp for children ages 8 to 12 who have experienced the death of a loved one. The children are paired with trained adult Big Buddies to explore their feelings through age-appropriate crafts, activities, discussions and one-on-one time.

Camp Jamie

Camp Jamie is a special weekend experience for grieving children from First Grade to age 14. This carefully designed program helps children begin to talk about their feelings related to a death of someone special, and teaches them coping skills for dealing with those feelings.

Camp Koby

Camp Koby provides children whose parents or siblings were murdered in terror attacks or died in another traumatic tragedy with a safe, fun and therapeutic environment.

Camp Nabi

For over 20 years, children, ages 6 – 13, have come to Camp Nabi to learn that they are not alone and share their stories in a safe environment while enjoying fun camp activities, such as swimming and canoeing.

Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising is a weekend retreat for high school aged teens who are grieving the death of a loved one.  Together they discover resiliency, strength of character and explore coping strategies through team building activities, such as scaling the wall on the Initiative and Confidence Course.
